In Buddhist context, '自在' (at ease) typically refers to a state of inner freedom, tranquility, and fearlessness. This freedom does not pertain to external circumstances, but rather to inner liberation and peace. Buddhism emphasizes achieving inner freedom through meditation, awakening, and liberation, transcending the bondage of desires and afflictions to attain inner serenity and freedom. This state of '自在' (at ease) is considered a realm of wisdom, peace, and liberation, and is one of the goals of spiritual practice.
